beautiful attractions in newyork

The George Eastman House in Rochester was owned by George Eastman, founder of the Kodak Company. It is a large, well designed mansion surrounded by attractive gardens. A wedding party was taking photos the day we were there. You learn a lot about the history of photography and how he influenced its development. A discovery room has a few exhibits for children. There is also a computer where you can view old films of George Eastman from the 1930's. Thomas Edison is even in one of them. It's worth a visit, especially if you like mansion tours. It cost approximately $8 million to build, but the value of the materials and craftsmanship today would take the price "through the roof." The building was officially dedicated in 1932 to coincide with the 100 year anniversary of the founding of the City of Buffalo. City Hall is a masterpiece of art and architecture with 100 feet long sandstone friezes on the east and west elevations, colored terra cotta in the pinacles and tower, sculptures and murals in the lobby, and an incredible stained glass ceiling in the Common Council Chamber on the 13th floor. The observation deck at the top of the central tower is free and open to the public. Just take the elevator to the top floor, and walk up three flights of steps to the outdoor deck. Buffalo City Hall is open during regular business hours. For staying in buffalo select cheap hotels in buffalo.
